Friday News Roundup 11/13/09The most interesting development this week was the release of the 25x'25 / UT study explored in the post below.
Another story of note was the Environmental Protection Agency’s release of a draft strategy for restoring the Chesapeake Bay.
The Environmental Protection Agency’s draft strategies will address conservation practices on farms, urban and suburban growth, storm-water drainage, the effects of climate change and habitat restoration. Working with the United States Department of Agriculture, the EPA plans to expand conservation incentives for farmers and simplify program participation, while seeking new technological solutions to reducing nutrient pollution from farms. The strategies are explicit in pointing out that, “Maintaining healthy, sustainable farms and forests is an essential component to protecting and restoring the Chesapeake Bay.”
